Day 32: Uusikauppunki + Driving to the Summer Cottage

Today, we left for our summer cottage at around 11 AM-ish mainly because Camilla was tired from the Ruis Rock Festival that she attended in Turku on Friday. Both Marja and Camilla came home at 3 AM the previous night, so their exhaustion was understandable!

Instead of driving along our usual route, Kari decided to drive along a coastal route so that I could see more of Finland! We stopped by a small town called Uusikauppunki, which translates to "New Town," and had a quick tour of the city and lunch.

Tuna Pizza! Because Uusikauppunki is a seaside town, the fish was very fresh.

Uusikauppunki, in terms of population, is a bit smaller than Rauma, but it was interesting to visit nonetheless! The highlight of the whole town was the gorgeous vast, tree-lined harbor and the hundreds of boats docked there.
