(Academic) Things to do in Finland

While I'm in Finland,

1. Revise Common App essay. I have a decent draft, but I definitely want to make it more sophisticated and more ME.

2. Solidify a list of colleges to apply to (currently, my list is 25+ colleges; I'll have to cut it down!) Where could I potentially see myself for four years? Where do I see myself being enriched intellectually?

3. Decide on an Early Decision/Early Action/Single Choice Early Action school. Every day it's different! It's such a pain to decide, but I'll probably start settling on a particular school after I receive my seven AP scores. Which leads to my next point...

4. Check AP scores on July 5th!! Ahh!! Crossing my fingers for seven 5's on the computer screen...

5. Create outlines the "Why" essays (for example, Why Harvard, Why Yale)

6. Finish drafting my UPenn and UChicago supplementary essays. I'm on the mailing list for both these schools, and they've released their super secret supplementary essay prompts early!!

7. Finish the two University of California essay prompts

8. Finish AP US Government summer reading (Hardball, by Chris Matthews) on the plane. From what I've been skimming so far, it's a compelling read.

As you can probably tell, most of my academic goals for the summer in Finland revolve around college admissions and college essays.
